I find in insane that after decades and decades of therapy where we were told to explore our doubts now one is told to ignore them and go full steam ahead.

This is all narcissistic rumination, trained in by the ideology, expressing persistent and valid reservations regarding the gory details of "transition." The patient is obese and most doctors won't do surgery? Find another doctor. Don't reflect on your unhealthy lifestyle. Also, don't call Mom your mom, or Dad your dad; call him or her "my parent" in true indoctrinated form. The conflicts of interest that all doctors/therapists/groomers have in this poker game include the fact that big pharma companies fund HRC (Human Rights Campaign) a "non-profit" that gives DEI scores to big corporations after sending in exactly these psychiatrically ill types to conduct "struggle sessions" and "pronouns workshops." In other words, the producers of the drugs and surgical instruments are manipulating public opinion for their own profits. This is very close to East German-style communism, brainwashing, ritual conditioning and manipulation. What these individuals need is training on recognizing cults. BTW, thanks to those here who came over to my YouTube channel, Trans Widow Ute Heggen and have me up to almost 1.1k subscribers and 76k views. Those with "dysphoria" would do well with Feldenkrais physical therapy, chiropractic, sensible exercise and diet and movement systems creating the sphere of wellness, as I demonstrate:

Thank you Eliza.

What I am so often struck with relative to the 'trans' 'community' is how utterly regressive it is. The repeated unnecessary split b/w the person's natal sex and his/her personal expression or 'way of being' in the world. The nonsense of apparently believing that a woman can't just remain whole and healthy and 'be' any way she wants to be. And the internalized misogyny and homophobia that is part and parcel of the misguided notion of how a woman is supposed to be is so patently obvious. If she must have a breast reduction b/c of big breasts okay but that is a separate issue from thinking that she has to try to be the opposite sex if she is same-sex attracted. The sex stereotyping is integral to the invention of 'trans.'

And the propaganda in schools and online have created the dysphoria more often than not and these indoctrinated souls have bought into it. They have been sold a bill of goods w/ all of the attendant physical, mental, and financial issues that brings--along w/ the ways their 'journey' affects others in their lives.

'Trans' requires that all of society is disrupted and must agree to participate in this enterprise and thus the purveyors of it are making promises they have no power to keep. But the primary drivers of the invented 'trans' 'gender identity' are the heterosexual male cross-dresser sexual fetishists, autogynephiles/transvestic fetishists, who along w/ some vulnerable homosexuals who get sucked into the 'trans' cult, and the parents who have 'transed' their kids will fight tooth and nail to maintain the fiction of transgenderism and force its implications on society. And they will be joined by the medical-tech complex crowd and corporatists who profit by it.

And LGBs and parents and ASDs and society as a whole--esp. women--will have to pay for this shambolic enterprise one way or another unless it is contained.

And in case you missed it, at the link below is Marcie Bowers' attempt at damage control and to keep the 'trans' train on the track and rolling over society (thank you @genspect). Bowers is, I think, the current president of WPATH and is himself a man pretending to be a woman. I suggest you scroll on down and read it all as it is the parasitic strategy the 'trans cabal' has used all along to advance this male fetish fiction including glomming onto the LGB movement. https://twitter.com/genspect/status/1649584078788673536

A really moving post, Eliza. All these poor women in so much pain and so confused about the source of that pain, only having their confusion compounded by people who are supposed to care about them. It also lays bare the familiar contradictions and nonsensicality of gender ideology - I particularly liked the bit about 'testosterone would have been life-saving for me when I was a child'. (But, er, you're still here, my friend)

Do you think it's a societal thing to push others this way? The "just do it" attitude seems like it's been around a lot longer than trans, as does the idea that we should be able to force our bodies to do whatever we want -- both of which are patriarchal ideals (bold action and control of our bodies). Emotional detachment is also a patriarchal ideal which is present in these communities but has been around for much longer -- I'm thinking especially of the beliefs that women's wondering wombs were to blame for their distress instead of something environmental. Women's emotions are seen as problematic so they're devalued, dismissed, and demeaned and women are encouraged to suppress or remove the offending parts (their woman parts). Our bodies are also the way in which all of humanity are birthed into this world and kept alive -- thus, the patriarchal obsession with bodily control and the intentional objectification and separation of women from their life-giving and life-sustaining organs.

Case studies in sunk cost fallacy. "I'm not happy now, but the next procedure will get me there." So sad.

WHY IS THIS SIMPLE TRUTH NOT OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE??!!!

I'm going to start off with a petty comment, but it matters to me. I wish you wouldn't use the word "queer". ("Instead, tap into a local queer network.") I understand that "queer" has supposedly become an umbrella word, but I still find it highly objectionable -- and I know other people who don't like it either. The word "gender" or initialism "LGBT" can usually be substituted.

Reading these excerpts from Reddit, the thing that is so remarkable to me is how these people are absolutely determined to hammer their bodies into what they want. It's a real act of egotism. As the product of a younger generation, I just accepted that my body was telling me who I was, and I didn't question it. Of course, if I had had gender dysphoria, I might have felt differently. The early transsexuals, the ones who went in for sex-change operations when it was a rare operation, felt so intensely that they were born the wrong sex that they simply had to do something about it. But these women on Reddit seem to be taking the whole thing very casually. Many of them are taking their time about transitioning, and they continue to look female for years and years. So if looking female isn't so painful that they are able to postpone the final transition, why not just stay female? Why not just accept yourself as you are? Cosmetic surgery should be saved for small operations to improve your looks, not change you from something you are to something you aren't.

I know I used this analogy before, but these people are pears who want to be apples. If you spend all your days saying, "I am an apple. I am an apple", then you have no chance of finding happiness as a pear.

The doubts never go away. I never look at trans influencers but needed an example of the pressure kids are under so looked at one on YouTube. It was a "retrospective" of transition. In the first few minutes the FtM relates that sometimes she feels a little down about trans life so then she likes to look through her photo history. And the sight of her body going from feminine to masculine cheers her up and she feels OK again. The photos of her changing body cheer her up when her real life cannot soothe the doubts.

If the trans guy is uptight at the thought of her upcoming "top surgery," she should try thinking of it a double mastectomy instead.

Seriously, though, I hope someone is archiving all of those Reddit posts with a view of making them available someday to scholars of this era of collective hysteria over gender identity and to litigators who are seeking to bring that era to a close by holding those most responsible for it to account.

I think about the gay rights campaign — "It gets better" — and how different those word were in that context. It wasn't, "Keep up the self-harm. Ignore all of the warning signals your body and mind are sending. If you ignore the red flags, eventually it pays off." "Eventually you're so far gone that there's no easy way back, but your undoing will assuage my own distress," would be a tad more honest.
