Trans activists love to talk about being on the "right side of history." But the mentality is something else—not the sense of being on the right side of history but the confidence of being on the winning side. When you believe you're on the right side of history, you should tend to act like it: take the high road, practice grace. Among trans activists, that self-belief doesn't translate into a principled approach but contempt. Trans activists have the assurance not of a just cause but of coming out on top—no matter what you say or do to get there. Being on the winning side of history means anything goes: violent threats, bald-faced lies, emotional manipulation, language that obscures.
I still make sense of it as the 'injustice index'. Just like anti-semites, who have appointed the Palestinians as the 'most oppressed group in the world', the TRAliban have decided that cocks in frocks are the most oppressed group in the world. Therefore anything is legitimate in order to defend them.
I wonder how many TRAs would read this piece and of those how many would understand the point. The impression I get is they do not GAF and have no interest in arcane conceptual distinctions, just so long as they can be assured they are right, which could mean being on the right side or the winning side - it does not much matter. When arguments are won or lost with emotional manipulation and baseball bats, reason is no longer working.
I wonder if the trans mania can be compared to addiction. In the case of addiction, a few people who are prone to being addicted to a substance will fall prey to it. Then it will gradually spread outwards in concentric circles to ensnare more & more people until the effect wanes.
This is where government and authority comes in. The government has a duty to stop this spread, and no, that's not prohibition. It's regulation. Everything is regulated. We don't sell alcohol to minors.
