I joined the Aarons (Aaron Kimberly and Aaron Terrell) for a conversation about the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, online trans communities, the dynamics of high-control groups, and more—
—also, yes, we recorded this during the hard freeze earlier this month and it really was that cold in my apartment.
We live in a strange world. This tiny minority , many or most of them in need of mental health care, have taken over. Too bad that mental institutions are not as available as they used to be. I commend you for staying to the bitter end without losing your sanity.
great interview Eliza. I've been fascinated by your recounting of what happened at the WPATH conference. It must have been so surreal.
Unfortunately I struggle with warming to the Aarons, whatever their mental health problems. It was strangely dissonant listening to those 2 woman repudiators expressing concern for "cis" children that might get wrongly transed. I am instantly repelled by ppl who casually adopt the language of the borg. I'll have to work on overcoming my shortcomings of character at being so judgemental and infuriated by those who present themselves as genuinely "true" trans.
